Elite Hard-tracking, quiet and forgiving
are terms to describe the Elite. Though this kayak is only 19"
wide, the flat bottom at midship allows for casual recreation possibilities
for this lightning-quick kayak. The Elite lends it self well to aerobic
training and sprint practice. It makes hardly a ripple as the distance
easily glides by. The forgiving hull lets the paddler enjoy more relaxed
paddling or even seacruising when not engaged in an exercise regime.
Deck and hull are constructed of fiberglass cloth. The rear hatch
assembly includes a fiberglass bulkhead ensuring structural integrity
and dry storage. |

Construction - The Sojourn is comprised of multiple layers of 6 oz.
flat-weave fiberglass for a high glass to resin ratio (composite boats
get their strength from the cloth not the resin). It is a labor intensive
process that produces a kayak that is lighter weight and significantly
stronger than other kayaks costing dramatically more. For integrity,
longevity and safety, the bulkheads are molded of fiberglass to fit
precisely and stay in place. Attention to detail includes a fully
adjustable seat for enhanced comfort and appropriate boat trim. Oversized
hatch openings allow for easy loading and unloading of gear (especially
the likes of bulky synthetic sleeping bags). Outfitting is completed
with the addition of a foot-control rudder for precise control and
efficiency. |
