Kon Tiki - Ra II comes standard with a drop skeg. A fully operational directional rudder system is an available option.

Kon Tiki - Ra I Though smaller in stature than many tandem kayaks and larger than some, this is a real touring kayak for fresh or salt water application. Share with another the experience of paddling. Performance found in kayaks costing hundreds more at a weight to rival most single kayaks. For entry-level paddlers and outfitters, the simplicity of the Ra I is advantageous. Optional equipment can be added at any time at your discretion as your skills improve and demands change.

Kon Tiki - Ra II Born of the same mold as the Ra I, the Ra II offers a higher degree of outfitting to enhance the level of comfort, safety and potential. Backcountry or saltwater treks of days in duration will prove invigorating from the cockpits of a Ra II. Outfitting includes, hatches with bulkheads both fore and aft, and retractable skeg. Optimize the outfitting by including a foot control rudder for precise control in marginal conditions and peak efficiency.

Why paddle in tandem? Sharing the experience of a water environment together in one kayak can be a marvelous experience. A true sense of teamwork comes from paddling in harmony with another paddler. When there are two 'motors', in what is typically a longer kayak, paddling is effortless. Paddlers can easily converse, perhaps comment on the brilliance of a maple tree reflection on the water's surface. Security is greatly enhanced, with the 'footprint' of a larger craft and there is little chance of being separated from one another.
